Please help Renewal Farm buy two new greenhouses so we can support men recovering from addiction and grow more fresh produce for local communities.

Here’s how…

Renewal Farm, a unique substance abuse program in Upstate York, helps long-term drug users with histories of homelessness and unemployment renew their lives. The program brings men from New York City to Garrison, NY, to work on the Farm, far from the neighborhoods and people that enable drug use. The natural beauty – along with integrated drug treatment and critical reentry services like job training, job placement and housing assistance – inspires change.

Renewal Farm is twice as successful as similar programs – and it’s needed now more than ever. In New York State, heroin overdose deaths rose 47% between 2010 and 2014 to an all-time high. Over 50% of the men at Renewal Farm are working to overcome heroin addiction and we’re determined to help them succeed.

The benefits don’t end there…

Renewal Farm supplies fresh, organic produce to Hudson Valley restaurants, the Garrison farmers market, the local food pantry, and other local charities. Talk about a win-win!

We want to raise $10,000 to buy two new hoop greenhouses that will enable us to:

  • Increase Renewal Farm’s acreage by 50%
  • Expand our planting season by two months, giving the men in recovery more therapeutic work experience
  • Increase the amount of produce we grow, which means more fresh vegetables for local restaurants and charities
  • Supply fresh produce for the first time to City Beet Kitchens, an extension of our jobs program that provides culinary training and employs homeless and at-risk New Yorkers

$10,000 will make this a reality, and your contribution — however big or small — will get us closer to our goal.

Renewal Farm empowered Guy Gonzalez to overcome a 40-year cycle of addiction.

We need your support to help more men like Guy. Your donation will give recovering addicts and homeless New Yorkers a second chance to get back on their feet.
